This Pride Month, we were reminded that joy is not separate from struggle—it is what carries us through it. Every laugh, dance, shared meal, and moment of community is a declaration that we are still here, still loving one another, and still building futures together.

Throughout June, we carried that spirit across Alabama, showing up at Pride on the Plains, K-Prodigy PrideFest and Central Alabama Pride in Birmingham. Executive Director TC Caldwell also joined a panel with Yellowhammer at the Borealis All-Staff Retreat in Montgomery, sharing reflections on movement building and collective care. We also felt the joy of community support through fundraisers by Twitch gamers, like Ellie Joy, and the Big Gay Dig Day by Not Bella.

In honor of the joy freedom brings, we also co-sponsored the PTNTLNRGY Collective Juneteenth Cookout. In a season when so much is trying to shrink, erase, or exhaust us, our joy remains.
